For a long time I have been trying to bring my love and my interest together in a way that my enjoyment of science fiction did not compromise my life for God. So imagine how excited I was when it downed on me…”Christian science fiction”. There was no reason, I reasoned, for science fiction to deny God. And no reason for ones belief in God to deny flights of imagination. Alternate worlds, alien beings, space travel, and time travel did not require that one suspend ones belief in God You see, many years ago, I heard a preacher say that imagining how things might have been was to deny God’s wisdom on how things are. And of course, that whole notion that to believe in science you had to stop believing in a divinity. You had to reject anything that could not be “proven” scientifically. I decided to shut down my web store and set up a website to promote and offer SF books and movies with news and reviews from a Christian perspective. But here I was--believing that I had stumbled on an amazing idea…”Christian science fiction”. All ready to tell the world about this new genre we were all overlooking. I went on the Internet and googled “Christian science fiction” and BAM! All these hits. Sites, blogs, publishers, and writers who only write Christian science fiction. WOW! Where have I been? I am joining the tour to hear what others have to say and learn about books I have missed. And if you have a chance, come by and visit Last Emissary at http://www.lastemissary.com. It is still developing, but in time I want to be able to promote and publish established and yet to be established writers at Last Emissary.

I am the marketing representative for Beau Garrett's debut novel, "Yoetna: Unsettling the Dark." Here is a brief description of the book:

The light of Endera has faded, swallowed by the ambitions of dark-hearted men. Five hundred years of ruthless dictatorship and forced servitude have marked the pages of recent history, and cries have gone unanswered. The last remaining hope of mankind has been captured and enslaved. Although unable to completely destroy the light, Harbingrey, the darkest of kings and a pawn to an evil far greater than himself, seeks to bring all mankind under the crushing weight of his rule.

But hope has not been silent. An ancient prophecy whispers about the rise of Yoetna, a fabled power that will destroy darkness. As Harbingrey moves to destroy this prophecy, a small flame is ignited in the heart of his unlikely servant, Nud.

Nud becomes over-whelmed by visions that invoke feelings he has never known: strength and hope. As Nud begins to uncover the truth, Harbingrey's ambition to silence the prophecy leads him ever closer to discovering his servant's true identity.

Teetering on a revelation that will shift the course of human events, Nud finds himself challenged to follow the voice of his own spirit. He must choose to step into the light, into the view of Harbingrey's wrath.

Yoetna waits to be released.

Some information about the author:

Beau Garrett loves bringing relevant truths to his stories through the use of allegory and metaphor, stirring people to think about things in a different perspective. Currently working professionally as a commercial pilot, he spends his time off leading youth ministry and writing. He resides with his wife in Atlanta, Georgia.

Thank you for your consideration.

Becky asked me to let you that her computer is dead (or on life support, at least). Can you please post on this site to tell people that you are holding the December blog tour, the 28th-30th and you will feature Digital Dragon Magazine. Please link to that site.

Maybe people could leave comments at this site to give a link to their post because Becky will not be able to compile a list of participants for this tour.

Hello,
I would like to become a member. I am particularly interested in Christian fiction and fantasy. I think fantasy has a peculiar advantage in conveying Christian truth because of its imagery and the extraordinary world it invites the reader into.

I have published the first book (The Oerken Leaves) of the trilogy, The Whole Creation Groans and would be keenly interested in providing a copy for review.
