Q. How does CSFF select the books, Web sites, or webzines it features?
A. CSFF is run by an administrative team that makes the selections.
Q. What’s the selection process?
A. When an author or publicist or member suggests a book, Web site, or webzine, at least one member of the administrative team previews the item and makes a recommendation to the group. After discussion, we vote on how to proceed.
Q. What kinds of books are you open to?
A. We accept science fiction, fantasy, supernatural suspense or supernatural thriller written from a Christian worldview. We feature adult and YA (young adult) novels as well as the occasional middle grade book. The main thing we’re looking for is quality.
Q. What standard are you using to determine quality?
A. A subjective one.
The administrative team is composed of a group of six writers, and we have varying tastes. However, we all desire to see more speculative fiction written from a Christian worldview. We’ve come to understand this requires good sales numbers for the speculative titles already on the bookshelves.
At the same time, we are also readers. We do not want to see an increase in mediocre fare. Therefore we do not see CSFF as a mere promotional tool. We see the organization as a means to focus attention on what deserves attention—the best fiction coming out.
The beauty of the tour is, no one has to agree with our determination of what’s best. Our bloggers are free, even encouraged, to give honest reviews of the books we choose.
Q. Do you ever feature self-published, print-on-demand, or e-books?
A. No. At this time, we don’t see featuring those works as something within our capacity or consistent with our overarching goal—to see traditional Christian publishers increase the number of speculative titles they produce.
Q. Does CSFF charge anything to the author, publisher, or publicist to run a tour for their book, Web site, or webzine?
A. No. At this time, we remain a volunteer board and do not charge for organizing the tours.
Q. Does CSFF only feature books?
A. No. We are also willing to feature webzines and Web sites. We want to support and encourage any expression of Christian speculative art, such as poetry, short stories, and visual art.
I’m writing to tell you about a new book, Sons of God by Rebecca Ellen Kurtz.
Sons of God is a mythic thriller that tells the tale of a 3,000 year old nephelim, half-human, half-angelic female warrior, disguised as a treasure hunter for mythic items. Raechev-el roams the world hunting down her fallen brethren until now, in the present, some mysterious murders occur at the archaeological dig at Nineveh and forces her to face her worst mistake.
This is a work of fiction that explores some controversial areas that some believe reveals the truth about what is in the Bible. Kurtz’s research in this book also presents an alternate theory on vampires based on ancient religions and civilizations, making it a great read for anyone interested in religion or the supernatural.
Rebecca Ellen Kurtz is a passionate amateur archaeologist and expert on historical mysteries who has traveled widely around the world studying foreign cultures authentically and experientially. To learn more about Kurtz and her book visit her blog at http://rebeccaellenkurtz.com/blog/
If you would like a copy of her book to review on your site, please contact me. Remember to include a mailing address.

Virginia Author Releases Fiction Adventure
KING WILLIAM, VA – On his family’s annual fishing trip, King William resident Lynn Steigleder’s son encouraged him to put his creative writing talents to good use. With the support of his family, he wrote a novel, “Rising Tide,” which tells the story of a man trapped in a decompression chamber, a category six hurricane above him and his habitat below destroyed by the blast.
Published by Tate Publishing and Enterprises, “Rising Tide” depicts a world in which land is at a premium due to the advancing sea, and where man’s attempt to adapt has led to a decay of morality and survival of the fittest. In the midst of the ocean, a crew of criminally minded profiteers rescues a stranded diver, Ben Adams. The author reveals whether the rescue is just a fortunate coincidence for Ben, or if he’s been led to this rendezvous with fate for a common goal.
The book is available at any bookstore nationwide or can be ordered through the publisher at http://www.tatepublishing.com/bookstore or by visiting barnesandnoble.com, amazon.com or target.com.
Steigleder owns a local drafting business and is involved in music ministry at his church, Gethsemane Church of Christ.

Hello, I am the author of “One If By Heaven, Two if By Hell” a Christian Sci-fi/fantasy novel set in Boston, MA. The novel was released on May 29th, 2009 via Leucrota Press and is available via all major bookstores. Synopsis:
Boston bartender Ethan Reyes has the haunting ability to read minds.
He cannot control it. It plagues his daily life as unwanted thoughts assault him on all sides at all times. Absorbing a million lifetimes of pain and joy—none of them his own—has left Ethan confused, alone, and questioning his own past. The only way to numb the pain, to drown it out, is to drink himself into a stupor each night to squeeze in a few hours of sleep.
Strange, horrific things begin occurring at the bar, and the patrons are being tormented and slowly killed off. When the source of the suffering makes itself known—a demon of the vilest order—Ethan is thrown into a world of deception and sin, and must overcome his misgivings of using his ‘gift’ if he is to overpower the creature after his very soul.
With the help of Father Ryan, whose own faith is wavering, Ethan begins to unravel the demon’s motive of surfacing on earth, as well as secrets to his own hazy past.
Time is running out, and Ethan needs to find the demon before the monster’s hellish plan can come to pass, and the world Ethan knows as home is changed forever.
“A dark and fascinating read that is both uplifting and terrifying, and will make you wonder about the certainty of your own soul…An entertaining, wonderful debut…what a great way to kick off an obviously talented writing career.” – Erin Durante, author of the Damewood Trilogy.
Hi, I’m the author of the recently released fantasy novel, “Transforming Realities,” published by Double-Edged Publishing. It is the second book in a three part series, and so far has met with very positive reviews. I would be honored to be considered for the tour. My web site has more info on the book itself: http://www.rlcopple.com/published.php
Thank you.
Hey. How far in advance do you want material? Would you like an ARC sent out to your group four months before release, or do you prefer copies once the book is out? The first three novels in my fantasy collection are coming out, the first releases next year, fall 2010. Please contact me to let me know the answers to these questions. The first book is The Wolf of Tebron, (AMG Publishers) and you can find synopsis and sample chapters on my site. This book will be coming out a few weeks after my Zondervan release, Someone to Blame (contemporary fiction), so I’m trying to coordinate publicity for both books. I love your blog tour and have been a guest blogger on spec faith blog in the past. Most of y’all know me.
My book, The Victor, is a blatant allegory of the Gospels/Bible written as a medieval fantasy/fiction and end-noted with scripture references. I am trying to reach both Christians and non Christians especially with the gospel in a format that is enjoyable.
I would like to request a blog tour. I have had several wonderful reviews (posted on my website).
I am the author of the soon-to-be released Christian sci-fi novel entitled “A Star Curiously Singing”. I would love to have my book included in your tour. Please contact me!
Thanks!
Kerry
I have Christian science fiction book coming out in October and would be interested in joining your tour. A book trailer is available on You Tube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jGP9SE5ou3k
Thanks,
Bill
Hi, I’m a big fan of Robert Liparulo’s Dreamhouse Kings series. His latest, Windswept is out now. Any chance we’ll get to feature this one and it’s sequel?
My wife and I write a series of novels called ‘The Laodicea Chronicles’, which relate the ongoing preparations of the Watchers for the final battle in the eternal war against God. The novels published thus far include ‘Winds of Evil’, ‘The Armageddon Strain’, and ‘Signs and Wonders’ by Sharon K. Gilbert, and ‘The God Conspiracy’ by Derek P. Gilbert. We write separately but share a timeline and some of the characters.
‘The God Conspiracy’ is also available as a free audiobook podcast at Podiobooks.com, and we’ll begin releasing podcast episodes of ‘Signs and Wonders’ by the first of the year.
I am the marketing representative for Beau Garrett’s debut novel, “Yoetna: Unsettling the Dark.” Here is a brief description of the book:
The light of Endera has faded, swallowed by the ambitions of dark-hearted men. Five hundred years of ruthless dictatorship and forced servitude have marked the pages of recent history, and cries have gone unanswered. The last remaining hope of mankind has been captured and enslaved. Although unable to completely destroy the light, Harbingrey, the darkest of kings and a pawn to an evil far greater than himself, seeks to bring all mankind under the crushing weight of his rule.
But hope has not been silent. An ancient prophecy whispers about the rise of Yoetna, a fabled power that will destroy darkness. As Harbingrey moves to destroy this prophecy, a small flame is ignited in the heart of his unlikely servant, Nud.
Nud becomes over-whelmed by visions that invoke feelings he has never known: strength and hope. As Nud begins to uncover the truth, Harbingrey’s ambition to silence the prophecy leads him ever closer to discovering his servant’s true identity.
Teetering on a revelation that will shift the course of human events, Nud finds himself challenged to follow the voice of his own spirit. He must choose to step into the light, into the view of Harbingrey’s wrath.
Yoetna waits to be released.
Some information about the author:
Beau Garrett loves bringing relevant truths to his stories through the use of allegory and metaphor, stirring people to think about things in a different perspective. Currently working professionally as a commercial pilot, he spends his time off leading youth ministry and writing. He resides with his wife in Atlanta, Georgia.
Thank you for your consideration.
